Can you post the video of the 7-8 Girls Long Jump finals or Sydney Harris's Recorded breaking jump?
Would you mind checking the video for the 13-14 girls 3000m Racewalk heat 1? It has not been available this week.
Thanks again!
Looking forward to seeing this race posted on the system.
Story:
Taylor Ewert, from Beavercreek, Ohiio, won her third consecutive 1500 meter national title to highlight the first day of race walking at the USATF Junior Olympic National Track & Field Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina. It was a very close race with Camila Vicens from Houston, Texas. Vicens led the first three circuits of North Carolina A&T University's 400 meter oval before Ewert took charge with 300 meters remaining. The soon to be 12 year old, with the local Miami Valley Track Club, won in 7:24.86 to 7:27.72 for Vicens.
Last year's 2nd place finisher to Ewert in the 11-12 race, won this year's 13-14 (youth girls) 3,000m race walk. Kirra Facer, from Southern California's Temecula Rangers TC held off pre-race favorite Melissa Endy to win in 16:45.71.
In the 13-14 boys 3,000 meter race walk Jonathan Aguilar won narrowly over Nehemiah Cionelo of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Auguilar's winning time was 15:40.72. Like Facer, on the girls side, he will be young enough to defend in the same division next year.
Meanwhile, Michael Belovich, a Springfield Catholic freshman with the local Miami Valley TC, charged hard over the last 250 meters to catch and then pass two other walkers, and place 4th overall out of the 28 competitors in the youth boys 13-14 division race. His medal winning performance time, a 65 second personal improvement over his previous best, netted him a fourth place finish overall in 16:45.71.
Also vying for a top 8 spot and a step on the awards podium at NC A&T university's stadium were Grace Endy from Westfield, New Jersey, in the 10 and younger girls 1500m race walk and Christopher Renn in 10 & younger boys race. Endy won out over her 1500 meter competitors with a 9:04.16 clocking. Meanwhile Christopher Renn, from Fair Lawn, NJ, dominated the 10 and younger boys division with a victorious effort walked in 9:14.09.
Ewerts first national title was as a bantam in 2011. Her winning time in Monday's race is the fastest 1500m walked at Nationals by a girl since 2000. We won't even mention that she beat the first place 11-12 boy at today's meet by 74 seconds. New Jersey's Evan Castro was that top guy as he won over 16 other 11-12 year old males with a comparatively pedestrian like time of 8:38.95.
oops, I guess we did.
The Junior Olympic National Championships in Track & Field continues Tuesday with the race walks once again headlining the day's action. Over 30 young ladies are entered in the 15-16 girls race at 9am. The 17-18 women follow immediately thereafter. The 15-16 boys taken center stage at 11am with the 17-18 year old young men following suite.
You can watch the video's of the races at the internet's newest on-line T&F news station, USATF's own www.usatf.tv But don't expect to see it in real time as some one made a very poor decision not to show the race walks live.
